What is the Training Challenge

The Training Challenge is a new challenge added in v8. For the next week, you will only be able to use one unevolved level 4 or level 5 Pokémon in one-on-one TPPC Training Challenge battles. Your Pokémon will be compared with the Pokémon of every other trainer in the TPPC Trainer Challenge every day.

How do I enter

To enter the challenge, select one level 4 or level 5 Pokémon in your box. For the next week, you will only be able to use this Pokémon in one-on-one TPPC Training Challenge battles. At the end of the week, your Pokémon will be compared with the Pokémon of every other trainer in TPPC Trainer Challenge. If your Pokémon has the most experience, you'll win the contest and a special prize Pokémon at the end of the week!

What are the Prizes

Prizes are distributed based on the information obtained during the normal 5:00 AM maintenance every Sunday and then distributed at 9:00 AM. At that time, all Pokémon currently entered in the challenge will be removed and the Training Challenge will start again!

Fatigue

After battling nonstop for several hours, your training challenge Pokemon will grow fatigued. Fatigued Pokemon gain less experience than their well-rested counterparts. Only allowing the Pokemon to rest (not battling in the Training Challenge for a few hours) will restore your Pokemon's ability to gain full experience per battle.

What is Fatigue?

Once a Pokemon in the Training Challenge is Fatigued, it only earns 10% of the total exp it would have normally gained, unless the user doesn't battle for 2 hours at a stretch, after which it resumes normally until Fatigued kicks in again.

When does your Pokemon become Fatigued?

When you start a Training Challenge battle, for the next 4 hours the Pokemon will gain exp like normal, after which Fatigued will start, and only go away once the user doesn't fight for 2 hours continuously as mentioned above too. But, if for some case you do begin a battle and don't continue for the full 4 hours, the timer for Fatigued to begin would reset after 2 hours of no training (One battle every hour would still get you fatigued after 4 hours that is). Also, in case you do still continue battling after the 4 hours, i.e., after Fatigued has already begun, the timer for Fatigued to end doesn't begin until your last battle, which means that your Pokemon would still have to wait 2 hours for Fatigued to get removed after the last battle.

Additional Information

  • Pokémon competing in the Training Challenge can only battle in the Training Challenge. They cannot participate in any other TPPC battles. If they attempt to enter another TPPC battle, they will automatically faint. Your training challenge entry cannot be swapped (as per 2/28/2014 update), sold or traded.
