Seafoam Islands
"Surrounded by water on all sides, there's no better place in the world than the Seafoam Islands for fishing. With this in mind, the people of the Seafoam Islands hold a fishing contest twice a week to find the best fisherman or fisherwoman around."
The Seafoam Islands fishing contest was a challenge in v7 and v7.5 of the RPG. It was removed in v8. It was similar to the Safari Contest in that trainers would find Pokémon and submit them for points, but featured several key differences. The Seafoam Islands ran twice a week and had three divisions with different prizes. Each of these divisions costed money to enter.
Magikarp Cup costed $100 to enter and allowed you to submit as many Pokémon you wanted without overwriting your previous submission.
Gyarados Cup costed $10,000 and allowed you to submit as many Pokémon as you wanted, however your previous submission would get replaced by the new one.
Suicune Cup costed $1,000,000 for each individual submission and your previous submission would get replaced by the new one.
