First Generation

Name	How to obtain
Articuno	Attach Sapphire Shard to your starter and search the maps. Win the battle and Articuno will be added to your box. ShinyArticuno was sold once every two hours for one day only.
Zapdos	Attach Emerald Shard to your starter and search the maps. Win the battle and Zapdos will be added to your box. ShinyZapdos used to be a Team Points prize in previous versions.
Moltres	Attach Ruby Shard to your starter and search the maps. Win the battle and Moltres will be added to your box. ShinyMoltres was sold once every two hours for one day only.
Mewtwo	Used to be found on Mewtwo's Lair; No longer available. ShinyMewtwo and DarkMewtwo used to be obtained by using the item Radiate (No longer available.) They were also promos.

Second Generation

Name	How to obtain
Raikou	Beating TPPC Legend. ShinyRaikou and DarkRaikou are obtained by having Team Rocket controlling the Power Plant for two consecutive months and beating the Master Engineer. Shiny during day, Dark during night.
Entei	Beating TPPC Legend. ShinyEntei and DarkEntei are obtained by having Team Magma controlling the Power Plant for two consecutive months and beating the Master Engineer. Shiny during day, Dark during night.
Suicune	Beating TPPC Legend. ShinySuicune and DarkSuicune are obtained by having Team Aqua controlling the Power Plant for two consecutive months and beating the Master Engineer. Shiny during day, Dark during night.
Lugia	Beating Whirlpool Tower. ShinyLugia and DarkLugia used to be obtained by using the item Radiate on a normal Lugia. (No longer available.)
Ho-Oh	Beating Inferno Tower. ShinyHo-Oh was Kife's contest Pokemon.

Third Generation

Name	How to obtain
Regirock	Obtained from maps during Regi Quest.
Regice	Obtained from maps during Regi Quest.
Registeel	Obtained from maps during Regi Quest.
Latias	Won from Unown Tower. ShinyLatias is obtained by completing Team Quests for Team Rocket.
Latios	Won from Unown Tower. ShinyLatios is obtained by completing Team Quests for Team TPPC.
Kyogre	Obtained after completing Team Quests for Team Aqua. ShinyKyogre used to be purchased using Team Points in previous versions.
Groudon	Obtained after completing Team Quests for Team Magma. ShinyGroudon used to be purchased using Team Points in previous versions.
Rayquaza	Obtained by beating the Regi Tower. ShinyRayquaza and DarkRayquaza are obtained by having Team TPPC controlling the Power Plant for two consecutive months and beating the Master Engineer. Shiny during day, Dark during night.

Fourth Generation

Name	How to obtain
Uxie	Obtained by attaching Acuity Water to your starter and defeating Uxie in battle. Battle pops up randomly on the bottom of your screen.
Mesprit	Obtained by attaching Verity Stone to your starter and defeating Mesprit in battle. Battle pops up randomly on the bottom of your screen.
Azelf	Obtained by attaching Valor Band to your starter and defeating Azelf in battle. Battle pops up randomly on the bottom of your screen.
Dialga	Used to be won from Battle Frontier. Only ShinyDialga is obtainable now, via beating the Battle Frontier.
Palkia	Obtained after completing Team Quests for Team Galactic. ShinyPalkia is obtained by beating the Battle Frontier.
Heatran	Obtained by attaching Magma Stone to your starter and defeating Heatran in battle. Battle pops up randomly on the bottom of your screen.
Regigigas	Obtained by searching Ancient Temple map if you have a Regirock (with Ruby Shard), Registeel (with Emerald Shard), and Regice (with Sapphire Shard). Obtained after beating in battle.
Giratina	Obtained by beating Lavender Tower with Silph Scope attached to first pokemon in party. Origin form is obtained by attaching a Griseous Orb and defeating the Evolution Gym. ShinyGiratina and DarkGiratina is obtained by having Team Galactic controlling the Power Plant for two consecutive months and beating the Master Engineer. Shiny during day, Dark during night.
Cresselia	Obtained for completing 75% of your Pokedex at Research Lab.

Fifth Generation

Name	How to obtain
Cobalion	Obtained by defeating Generation Tower.
Terrakion	Obtained by defeating Generation Tower.
Virizion	Obtained by defeating Generation Tower.
Tornadus	Obtained by defeating N during the Plasma event.
Thundurus	Obtained by defeating N during the Plasma event.
Landorus	Obtained by defeating N with Tornadus and Thundurus in you roster. during the Plasma event.
Zekrom	Obtained by defeating Charged Whirlpool.
Reshiram	Obtained by defeating Turboblaze Tower.
Kyurem	Obtained by defeating Frozen Forest.
